Learn the core concepts behind PackTrack — the four-level hierarchy and how everything fits together.
Choosing Your Setup
When you create your PackTrack account, you choose a purpose that pre-configures the app for your use-case. Here's what each option means.
Areas
Areas are the top-level physical spaces in your inventory — rooms, buildings, or storage units.
Locations
Locations are specific spots inside an Area — shelves, walls, corners, or any sub-division of a space.
Boxes
Boxes are containers for Items. Place them inside an Area or Location, then add Items inside them.
Items
Items are the individual things you are tracking. They live inside an Area, Location, or Box.
QR Codes
Print QR labels for any Area, Location, Box, or Item, then scan them with your phone to navigate instantly.
Reports
Generate tabular reports across Areas, Locations, Boxes, or Items with flexible filters and export options.
Tags
Tags let you categorise and filter Areas, Locations, Boxes, and Items across the app.
Print Labels
Select and print QR labels for any combination of Areas, Locations, Boxes, and Items.
Importing Data
Bulk-import Areas, Locations, Boxes, or Items from a CSV or Excel file using a downloadable template.
Site Administration
Admins can customise the Site name, rename entity labels, enable optional fields, and manage users.
